Partners for Amtrak Safety and Security
The Partners for Amtrak Safety and Security program assists Amtrak Police in protecting America’s Railroad by encouraging passengers and community members to be on the alert for potential security or safety problems. Visit pass.amtrak.com to learn more about The Partners for Amtrak Safety and Security and to register as a participant. As always please report suspicious or unusual activity immediately by calling the Amtrak Police National Communication Center at (800) 331-0008 or by dialing 911. Do not take any further action!
I signed up for this when it was started several months back. It’s really a great idea because it makes more people aware of their surroundings. Just an awareness alone makes the railroad a much safer place.
As a railfan I will keep an eye out, A wonderful Idea! That one person who signs up could make the difference.
exelent program i will keep an eye out for any problems or potentional threats

@amtrakhorn me too!
What About Us Railfans We Look For suspicious Activity to and report it
@amtrakhorn So am I! Just printed my card. Now, down to the local station.
Be careful in calling in suspicious people. There are lots of activists out there who are purposely filming railroads for the sole purpose of hoping they get stopped by the police. The cops just do their job by investigating a suspicious person report, but the activist/photographer will refuse to cooperate with the officers and not produce ID. This leads to a big mess, and eventually the activist will contact the ACLU to sue the cops AND the person who made the report! Be careful.
Great idea! The freight railroads should be so wise and take advantage of the eyes and ears of responsible citizens.
I am proud to say I am a member of this group. When I go out to film, The first thing I look for is unusual activity. Then I report it
Why have a “card” when all you really are doing is reporting as a private citizen?
I dont see the point of this “card”…it doesnt give you a PASS for riding the trains….
